Time Fly 's

Hello Friends, First a foremost apologies for the time lapse it has certainly went by very quick since I last posted in  August 2023 . Life has had its challenges Healthwise a little long covid  was making me a little tired and brought up physical issues , I have great people looking after me and with a few trips to Bristol to my familiar doctors and medical professionals   things have  improved greatly .  I also got through a very cold and wet Irish winter . My Son started secondary school which is a big step , as I  write he has completed the first year it went so super quick . He now nearing the start of his second year , I am so proud of him , transition from primary education can be hard and he was doing it away from his friends , on his own . It has been a humbling experience seeing how he settled in and made friends and is now in the grove . One very Proud father of a TENNAGER !  I am also adapting to filling my time with new challeng...

Sing Out Loud

 Alright!

Hope your all keeping well,

Last Thursday the 24th November the importance of music and performance was demonstrated in a show I went to see at the National Opera House Wexford.  My son took part in SING OUT LOUD 2022 which is a fantastic opportunity for Children. It had been the first opportunity in 2 years as during the pandemic two shows had been cancelled which brought home that the children of those years have lost out on such a fantastic opportunity. The vision is to give kids an opportunity to fall in love with music and theatre.

This got me thinking about what our lives where like pre pandemic we took it for granted how easy it was for us to go see or be part of a shows, catch a live band and performance. The pandemic changed this and it only now that we are getting to bring this part of our lives back.

tickets booked in 2019 for shows have been rescheduled YES.

The entertainment industry like all other industries took a nock but it is getting back on its feet slowly. Helping this industry back on its feet can be as simple as buying a ticket to see the local Christmas show. Helping children experience what it is like to go see or be part of a show.

I was super impressed by Sing Out Loud - even more so as just for me the last song of the evening sent out the message that I live my life By - that right folks !

The children raised the roof with 'Always Look in the Bright Side '

It was a beautiful evening of talented professionals and a choir of Superstars - Children from schools across Wexford.

I recall when at Westbury on Trym Primary School in Bristol one Christmas being a Wise Man (Nothing change there I am still a wise man) - I recall feeling confident this was also an opportunity to get close to the girl of my heart. At the time she was 'dating' one of my best friends Moose serious stuff at 10 years old. My effort in the play paid off a few months later she dumped Moose and I 'dated' her for 7 months. (More on my early romantic relationships later not enough time today). The Moose and I eventually moved on to not sharing girlfriends.

Hello Friends, A new month (March) the is weather cold and yes there wind a rain for this time of year before I move forward I am going to take a deep breath as I am ready to put into words the event that changed the course of my young life in August 1991. A little refresher I and my family were in Dordogne France, we were have a really nice time in the fresh air, we had a swimming pool to play in .   As I continue, I will make note of   things that I have had confirmed or have no recollection of and my people have helped fill in the blanks. photo credit : The Crouch family   The cottage (photo above) we were staying in sat alongside a Farm tranquil and picturesque. I wasn’t able to recall much details until my Mum show me some holiday photos before the 19 th August. no digital technology to record daily life - old fashioned camera (that I call a real cameras) a with film the type that needed development after photo was taken.   The photo shows a...

The Wonder Year 1991 - School out let Summer commence

Hello Friends , February here already were does the time go ? I have been juggling learning new skills and emotions . Sitting and writing this blog has opened up the past and it also showing me a future. It honestly is rewarding and challenging all at the same time. I am having to deal with sensitive emotions but also learning to be patient as I learn the process of writing , drafting , editing and trying to make my written word presentable and a good read   (which of course it is !) Here we go a trip into the past , to be precise the summer of 1991. A year that is made up of numbers that in reverse order matches the year it self ( a bit of trivia ). Imagine  credit Google School was out, the car was packed and   Tibby the family cat was being looked after by Mrs  Box our neighbor. The coolest names ever our neighbor's at the time Mr Dick Box and Mrs Betty Box awesome neighbors even with the occasional football over the fence offence occurrences ...

Back home & world of the hospital wards, school

Hello Friends. Doesn’t time fly when your distracted by living on the Bright side of life, it been a while and so much has changed in that time . The season has turned to summer , My Son has completed his final year in primary education , New adventures ahead for him and for me as his parent   . He also officially taller than his mother which I can honestly say is a relief as I was a bit worried that he inherited the leprechaun gene   ! My son is now in the age range that I had so cruelly taken from me as a full able bodied carefree youngster .   As we go on this journey it makes me appreciate the normality of the “growing/developing pains challenges we are both experiencing as he matures and becomes independent . My parents had a dark cloud hung over them when I was at this age , one that needed courage , strength and determination to guide me through recovery and development , their worry now was my recovery , my health , my basic development . There was ...
